From Sketch to Store - When illustration meets photography
French Connection UK commissioned famous fashion photographer Rankin to capture its Autumn/Winter 2013 collection for the brand's first black and white campaign, "From Sketch to Store." The photographer's in-house creative content agency, The Full Service, conceived the edgy-yet-playful video and shoot that will run online and in print until December. The pictures show male and female models whose nude forms were sketched over with designs -- including shoes and accessories -- by illustrator Jo Bird. The final photos are of them sporting the collection's finished looks. The merging of photography with the clever illustrations make a simplistic yet impactful campaign.

Orbiter- Interactive Sound Equipment
I'd like to welcome you to the Oribter. Now to explain. In this installation inspired by reaching for the stars and the musical patterns within the universe, people are encouraged to lay down beneath the huge screen and make a small gesture, for example pointing upwards. This then creates projections of images onto the screen (the stars) as well as wierd and wonderful musical sounds that accompany them. Each version of the Orbiter features various scenes with different graphics, noises and behaviour.
Some create an illusionary nightsky firmament, playing more melodic or ambient sounds whilst others experiment with the possibilities of graphical abstraction and rough synths, allowing you to even play drum’n bass-like sounds.
The music is played on a scale of concentric circles, visible in some of the scenes, with higher tones on the larger, basses on the smaller circles. The bigger you let a star grow before you pull back your hand to insert it into orbit, the louder it plays. Like the stars orbit on the large ceiling screen above the player, the surround sound orbits in the room on up to 10 high-tone-channels, supported by a bass box and a solid bourne sound speaker underneath the player´s couch.

Elephant .V. Vadar
If you live in London, I'm fairly sure you'll have seen atleast one of the 250 elephants placed around the capital this summer, each one individually designed and crafted by various artists and designers including Jack Vetriano, Matthew Williamson and Jeff Hoare. With a host of celebrity supporters and top of the range PR, the Elephant Parade has proved to be extremely successful in raising awareness. In fact, after a recent auction, a grand total of £70,000 was raised towards the charity ElephantFamily.org.Another similar project that delves slightly more into the dark side of art is 'The Vadar Project'. Again, 100 artists and designers customized replicas of the Darth Vader helmet transforming the mask of the menacing villain into individual works of art.
Unlike the elephants though, this exhibition has been touring for 4 years and is soon to come to an end in Freeman's Auction House in Philedelphia. Curated and produced by Dov Kelemer and Sarah Jo Marks of DKE Toys, the Vader Project is on view at Freeman’s from July 5-9, followed by the auction on July 10. The show also includes a vibrant limited-edition catalog featuring full-color photographs of each helmet.

Lauren DiCocci
Check out this brilliant embroidery work by American artist Lauren DiCocci, who bases her work around the physicality of everyday objects. She says:"The tedious handiwork and obsessive care I employ to create my work aims to remind the viewer of these simple but intimate pieces of everyday life and to provoke a pang of nostalgia for the familiar physicality of these objects"

Art Attack
This video shows the colourful chaos of a guerilla public art project in which art students on bikes dumped multicoloured paint onto the roads of Berlin's busy Rosenthaler Platz. As cars became the paintburshes and the road the canvas, colourful lines were created as drivers drove over the splashes of paint.

Photo Of The Day-Fancy A Fry-Up?
Artist David Sykes has cleverly transformed these balloons into a fry-up. He clearly has a very original style and creative flare. He did miss the Ketchup though....

The Lamp Lounge
We're slowly falling in love with this light installation. It was created in Italy to launch the Citroën DS3 Design Driver and bears the signature of the architect Fabio Rotella. His aim was to create an “Open Air Living Room” where a six-metre-high lampshade covers and illuminates a lounge area.
